Air fryer soft boiled eggs give you jammy yolks and tender, fully set whites in about 12 minutes at 270°F, no boiling water needed. I make them for a quick high-protein breakfast, snack, or meal prep, and love them on toast or with a sprinkle of salt.
Preheat Air Fryer: Preheat your air fryer to 270°F (135°C). If your air fryer does not go below 300°F, reduce the cook time by 1 to 2 minutes so the eggs don't overcook.
Add the eggs: Arrange the eggs in a single layer in the basket, leaving a little space between each one so the air can circulate.
Cook: Air fry for 9 to 11 minutes. Cook 9 minutes for a runny yolk or 11 minutes for a firmer, jammy center.
Ice bath: While the eggs cook, fill a bowl with ice and cold water. As soon as the eggs are done, use tongs to move them straight into the ice bath and let them sit for 4 to 5 minutes to stop the cooking.
Peel and serve: Gently crack and peel the cooled eggs. Slice in half, season with salt, pepper, or everything bagel seasoning, and enjoy.
Notes
Test one egg first: Every air fryer runs differently. Cook a single egg to find your ideal time before making a full batch. If the whites are still runny: Your air fryer likely runs cool. Add 2 to 3 minutes at 270°F rather than raising the temperature, which can crack the eggs.Egg temperature: These times are for eggs straight from the fridge. For room temperature eggs, reduce the time by 1 to 2 minutes.Storage: Keep cooked eggs in an airtight container in the fridge for 5 to 7 days. They last longest unpeeled.
