These crispy air fryer sweet potato wedges are perfectly seasoned, tender on the inside, and make a healthy side dish. Made with just 5 ingredients and ready in under 25 minutes, they're quick, easy, and seriously delicious.
Wash and Cut the Sweet Potatoes. Wash and dry the sweet potatoes well. Cut them into wedges about ½ inch thick: halve each sweet potato lengthwise, then cut each half into thirds or quarters depending on its size.
Season the Wedges. Place the wedges in a mixing bowl. Drizzle with 1 to 2 tablespoons of olive oil, add all the seasonings, and toss until evenly coated.
Add to the Air Fryer Basket. Add the wedges to the air fryer basket in a single layer. Avoid overcrowding; if your air fryer is small, cook them in two batches.
Air Fry Until Crispy. Air fry for 15 to 18 minutes, flipping each wedge with tongs halfway through, until golden and crispy.
Serve immediately as a side dish, or save for meal prep. They pair well with ketchup, healthy ranch dip, or your favorite dipping sauce. Enjoy!
Notes
Tip #1 - Uniform Thickness: For even cooking, try to cut the sweet potato wedges into uniform thicknesses. This ensures that they cook evenly and you don’t end up with some wedges undercooked while others are overly crispy.Tip #2 - Don’t Overcrowd: Avoid overcrowding the air fryer basket, as this can prevent proper air circulation and result in unevenly cooked wedges. Cook the wedges in batches if necessary, ensuring they’re spaced apart in a single layer.Serve Immediately: Sweet potato wedges are best enjoyed fresh and hot from the air fryer. For optimal flavor and texture, serve them immediately as a delicious side dish or snack.Sweet Potatoes: Use regular potatoes, yams, or your favorite variety of sweet potato.Avocado or Olive Oil: Any cooking oil you have on hand will work.Burgers: Serve sweet potato wedges alongside your favorite burgers, such as these bison burgers, grilled turkey burgers, or cilantro lime chicken burgers.Storing: To store sweet potato wedges, allow them to cool completely, then transfer them to an airtight container and refrigerate for up to 3-4 days.Reheating: To reheat, preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C), spread the wedges in a single layer on a baking sheet, and bake for 10-15 minutes until heated through. Alternatively, you can reheat them in the air fryer at 350°F (175°C) for 5-7 minutes, turning halfway through for even heating. How to Roast in Oven: Preheat to 425°F (220°C), and line a baking sheet.
