- Sweet potato: This healthy mashed potatoes recipe uses sweet potatoes! You’ll need about three medium-sized ones.
- Cauliflower: To make this potato mash healthy and light, we are also adding cauliflower. You cannot taste it, but it makes this mash fluffy.
- Greek Yogurt: This is my secret ingredient to making this sweet potato cauliflower mash super fluffy, light, and creamy without adding butter.
- Chicken or Vegetable Broth: This adds the best flavor to these mashed sweet potatoes!
- Garlic: Minced cloves of garlic to add the best savory flavor.
- Parsley: Plus some fresh parsley.
- Salt & Pepper: Lastly, you’ll season with salt and pepper to your taste.

How to make sweet potato cauliflower mash
This savory potato cauliflower mash is not only delicious, but it is also super simple to make. Any level cook can make them! We will start by cooking the cubes of sweet potatoes and cauliflower, then mashing them, and finally, we will which them until they are super duper fluffy. Here are step-by-step instructions:
Step 1:
First, add sweet potato cubes and cauliflower florets to a large saucepot or dutch oven. Add enough water to cover them by about 1 inch. Then add a pinch of salt and bring to a boil.
Step 2:
Then, cook for 15 – 25 minutes until the sweet potatoes and cauliflower florets are fork-tender.
Step 3:
Next, drain the water and add them back into the empty pot or a large mixing bowl. Then mash with a potato masher or use a press.
Step 4:
Then, on low speed, whisk in the Greek yogurt, chicken or vegetable broth, garlic, fresh parsley, salt, and pepper with a spatula or electric hand mixer. For extra fluffiness, I recommend using a hand mixer.
Step 5:
Finally, taste and adjust seasonings if desired. Enjoy warm and garnish them with fresh rosemary, parsley, or butter!

- ¼ cup fresh parsley, finely chopped
- 1 tsp salt, more to taste
- 1 tsp black pepper
