The BEST ever homemade copy cat dark chocolate Bark Thins!
Okay, I am not sure about you, but Bark Thins could be one of my all-time favorite treats. During my first few years of college, I ate them every single night for dessert. No joke. They are so delicious, chocolatey, and have the perfect amount of sweetness. Plus, let’s not forget the amazing crunch from the pretzel. These are seriously addictive, to say the least.
And you know what is even better? FROZEN Bark Thins. Ask anyone who knows me, I am so protective over my frozen dark chocolate Bark Thins. I literally hide them in the back of the freezer so no one else can find them. Anyone else have this problem?
Anyways, one day, as I was walking down the Whole Foods chocolates and treats aisle, it hit me: Why don’t I try to make my own Bark Thins?
- It will save so much money.
- I can simplify the ingredients to make mine healthier and more nutritious.
- I can make mine grain-free and vegan.
And if I must say so myself, my experiment turned out to be a major success! I had to make 6 batches because my entire family kept devouring them. I even caught my 20-year-old brother sneaking the bag away from the freezer at midnight!

How to make vegan salted dark chocolate pretzel Bark
I honestly was scared to try to make a “candy” recipe. I thought it would be so hard, given that I would be working with chocolate. However, I could not have been more wrong. These no-bake chocolate chunks of pure heaven were so easy to make. I’ll even walk you through the steps.
Add your pretzel of choice to a large zip lock bag and crumble them into small to medium sized pieces with your hands. You want to make sure there are still some decent sized pieces so you get that killer crunch factor.
Next, line a baking sheet or cake tin with parchment paper and melt the chocolate and coconut oil together.
Sprinkle the pretzel chunks across the lined sheet and pour your chocolate mixture evenly across the top. Top with flaky salt and pop your tray into the freezer for 30 – 45 minutes.
Store in the freezer or refridgerator.
And enjoy your salted dark chocolate pretzel bark!
How should I store these vegan chocolate bark?
Store your dark chocolate bark thins in an airtight container in the fridge or freezer. They will last a few days in the fridge, and up to two months if frozen. I personally LOVE eating them frozen, but you can absolutely enjoy these thawed or from the refrigerator.
