    This has got to be one of my all time favorite banana bread recipes! It is light, moist, perfectly sweetened and absolutely addictive. My family and I finished the loaf in one afternoon!

    This peanut butter banana bread is the perfect healthy snack, breakfast, and even late-night treat! It is not only made with simple and clean ingredients, but this banana peanut butter loaf is also gluten-free and dairy-free. It tastes like classic melt-in-your-mouth banana bread, without any butter!

    If you are a fan of peanut butter, like me, you will just LOVE this easy banana bread recipe. The creamy peanut butter flavor in combination with the sweet crunch from the chocolate chips and chopped peanuts is to die for. This healthy banana loaf is the perfect make-ahead recipe to keep on hand for healthy snacking or for an on-the-go breakfast. Seriously, there is absolutely no guilt have multiple slices!

    Ingredients Used for Gluten-Free Peanut Butter Banana Bread

    You’ll only need a handful, simple ingredients to get this easy snack recipe going! You probably have most of these ingredients in your pantry already. For this gluten-free, easy recipe, you’ll need some maple syrup, bananas, and, of course, lots of peanut butter!

    • Over-Ripe Bananas
    • Creamy Peanut Butter – I used salted peanut butter, but if you only have unsalted add 1/4 tsp of salt!
    • Maple Syrup
    • Eggs
    • Vanilla Extract
    • Almond Flour
    • Baking Powder
    • Baking Soda
    • Cinnamon
    • Mini Chocolate Chips – I used a dairy-free brand!
    • Dry Roasted Peanuts

    Substitution Options for Healthy Chocolate Chip Banana Bread

    If you find yourself missing an ingredient or two, try these! I recommend substituting no more than 1-2 ingredients.

    Salted Peanut Butter – swap 1 for 1 with unsalted peanut butter and add an additional 1/4 tsp of salt!

    Maple syrup – Swap out for honey or another liquid sweetener.

    Almond Flour – Substitute for gluten-free all-purpose flour 1 for 1.

    What You’ll Need to Make Healthy Peanut Butter Banana Bread

    For this easy gluten-free recipe, you’ll only need a couple of kitchen tools making the clean up super easy! Plus you only need a few things to get you going, including a mixing bowl, an oven and a loaf tin. This healthy snack recipe could not be any simpler!

    • Bread loaf tin
    • One large mixing bowl
    • Parchment paper
    • Stirring utensil
    • Measuring tools: 1/2 teaspoon, 1/4 cup, and 1 cup

    How to Make the Healthy Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Banana Bread

    This recipe is so simple and really easy to make. You’ll be in and out of the kitchen and have a delicious snack ready for the entire week! And all you need is bread loaf tin, parchment paper, a mixing bowl. and an oven.

    Here, I’ll walk you through the steps to make these delicious, healthy peanut butter chocolate chip banana bread!

    First, preheat your oven to 350F and line and grease a loaf tin with parchment paper.

    In a large bowl, combine the mashed banana, salted creamy peanut butter, maple syrup, whisked eggs, and vanilla extract.

    Next, add in the blanched almond flour, baking powder, baking soda, and cinnamon. Mix until everything is combined and then hand fold in the mini chocolate chips. You can even add in some peanuts into the batter if you want and extra crunch factor!

    After that, pour the batter into the greased loaf tin and sprinkle the chopped peanuts and extra chocolate chips on top.

    Bake and enjoy your healthy peanut butter chocolate chip banana bread loaf right then and there or store at room temperate for 5 days in a covered container. You can also store in the refrigerator for up to 10 days in an airtight container!

    Ingredients
     

    • 2 over-ripe medium bananas, mashed
    • 6 Tbsp salted creamy peanut butter
    • ¼ cup 100% pure maple syrup
    • 2 large eggs
    • 1 ½ tsp vanilla extract
    • 2 cups + 1 Tbsp almond flour
    • 1 tsp baking powder
    • 1 tsp baking soda
    • 1 ¼ tsp cinnamon
    • ⅓ cup chocolate chips

    Topping:

    • 2 Tbsp chopped peanuts

    Instructions

    • Preheat oven to 350F and line and grease a bread tin with parchment paper.
    • In a large mixing bowl, combine mashed bananas, salted creamy peanut butter, maple syrup, whisked eggs, and vanilla extract.
    • Add in almond flour, baking powder, baking soda, and cinnamon. Mix until completely combined.
    • Hand fold in chocolate chips and pour batter into greased bread tin.
    • Sprinkle chopped peanuts and extra chocolate chips on top.
    • Bake for 45 - 50 minutes, or until toothpick comes out clean. 
    • Let cool & enjoy! Store in sealed container at room temperature up to 4 days or refrigerate for up to 10 days.

    Notes

    Do not substitute the almond flour in the recipe for another type.
    Can substitute unsalted peanut butter for salted peanut butter, just add 1/4 tsp salt.

      I made this recipe yesterday following instructions to the letter with the exception that my oven isn’t working at this moment so I decided to give it a try by using my toaster oven and mini loaf pans. My idea worked and I ended up with the most delicious banana breads.
